Our Process

From your original design, through to tailoring and fitting your dress to your exact measurements, we will guide you through a thorough process, ensuring that the specific vision you have for your wedding dress is realised.

Meeting the bride

Our first appointment will be the initial consultation where you are able to submit a picture or drawing of your dress. We will re-work the design to your desired look and specification. During the first consultation, we will also confirm your wedding date and discuss the overall timeline. Your measurements will also be taken during this initial consultation

Fabric & Trims

The type of fabric to be used will also be suggested and discussed, according to what’s most appropriate. Fabric swatches with a variety of fabric types will be given to select from. We at Canola Bespoke Bridal will carefully source the appropriate fabric against that which is selected. Alternatively, you can come with your own fabric and this will be deducted from the overall costing.

Pattern cutting, Sampling & FIT

A detailed pattern is created according to your measurements, and an initial mock sample, in the closest matching mock fabric is made. A first fit is then arranged and the mock sample is fitted on you. The appropriate fit changes are made to the pattern and the final sample is then cut and made. If another fit is needed, a second fitting will be arranged. After this the final wedding gown will then be fitted on you. We always advise our brides to attend the fit sessions with the shoes, accessories and undergarments intended to be worn on the day, as this will reflect more accurately on the final fitting.
